Joely Williams is a poet and multidisciplinary artist based in Columbia, South Carolina, with roots in the Bronx and the Caribbean diaspora.
Her work lives at the intersection of the everyday and the estranging — concrete images, diaspora memory, a persistent attention to what things look like just before they change.
She is the founder of the Poetry Letter Club (@poems_neverdie), a handwritten poetry subscription delivered twice weekly in handmade envelopes constructed from old book pages, with tea bags and journaling prompts enclosed.
She writes poetry, flash fiction, noir, speculative fiction, magical realism, and ekphrasis. Her work has been submitted to and considered by venues including Penn Review, Harpur Palate, Rock and a Hard Place Press, Omenana, The Deadlands, and others.
